moving an unmovable vehicle?

I used to cut old falcons , Holdens etc in half with an Axe , you'd be surprised how quickly it can be done, dead easy . D2 would be a snap, even the chassis if you can get a swing at it .

This guy is using the wrong axe and makes it look hard, a regular Kelly axe does the job

That's about 2hrs and 59mins too much work for me!

I'm liking the idea to leave the wheels and stuff on, roll it onto whatever, maybe even remove them once I get the body to wherever. They can lift it off at the 'other end'.
Of course there's no other end as yet. Need to sort that out before anything else. Otherwise I may have 3 hrs work ahead of me! [tonguewink]

In the past I've stripped cars down to a rolling shell then once on the trailer removed hubs etc, just rest the shell on old wheels or solid timber. Sims will forklift the shell off the trailer.

That is a splitting axe for firewood. Not much more than a tomahawk. A kelly would definitely be better.

I've had a D2 spares in my back yard for a couple years now. Problem is I can't strip the parts I need .. yet!. sloping gravel, not stable enough to raise body to remove all the required bits.

Also, I have to find "it's final resting spot" .. the likes of pick-a-part, or simsmetal .. or wherever they'll take a non rolling chassis/shell. I'll assume they'll lift it of a trailer or tray truck, if I go down that route to remove off my property.

property is a typical suburban house/block, 2.3(ish) wide driveway down the side at the narrow bit, and about 3m at the fence .. so removing off the actual driveway won't be too hard to do eventually.

so question is: is there some type of 'dolly' type thing I could fab or rent just to make the dragging process a lot less problematic.

Alternatively: does anyone want a D2(V8) body and chassis .. free to good home! [biggrin]

Strip it down but leave the axles on. When ready, grab a car trailer, take off the front axle and place chassis stands under the front. Back the car trailer in under the front and winch front end of the D1 on to the trailer. When the D1 is balanced on the trailer, take off the rear axle and then finish winching it on. Place a couple of pieces of wood under the chassis, which will slide on the trailer deck better than steel-on-steel. They will just fork or grab it off at the wrecker/recycling place.
