Guys,
Trying to put together some products that I may need in an emergency - ie: Damage to my Plastic Fuel Tank and/or damage to my Radiator.
Looking for something to stick in my emergency kit when remote touring for if I ever damage or put a hole in my Plastic Fuel Tanks &/or Radiator....
So, what's out there and what do people recommend or have had experience with ???

In my emergencies box in the car, I have one of the various two-part epoxy putties, Silver Seal, and some E-Bay special rescue tape. I have used the putty to fix a hole in the sump, a cracked radiator joint and numerous leaks in the boat. The Silver Seal has been used to fixed numerous slow radiator leaks. The rescue tape has been used to lag a steel radiator hose that had turned into a lace curtain. These three products can get you going again in most leak situations.

the plastic bottles that oil comes in is perfect for most auto plastic repairs if you work it like solder on a 12V or butane soldering iron.
2 part epoxy is good for both ally, cast and plastics.

If you think you're in front on the deal, pay it forwards.
A bar of sunlight soap, and rub it right into the crack where fuel is leaking from. Give it a minute or three and it will seal up.
only temporary though. it is not a solution that you can drive on for 1000km. It will get you out of the bush and to the nearest town though if you are reasonably careful.

Some super glue and a bit of talcum powder or even dust will seal a small hole and get you out of trouble, To fix it permanently you will have to get it plastic welded
If it is only a pin hole a self tapper screw or a teck screw will fix it.

Follow-up....
Well, got tired of waiting for repairers to get back to me, so I decided to give it a crack (pardon the pun) and try to fix the crack in my Shingleback sill tank. Found some JB Weld plastic welding glue of sorts and did some prep cleaning up work and tried the JB weld product... Left it overnight and then put a few litres of diesel in the tank and NO LEAKS... So back in the Sill tank went and then refilled with 30-40ltrs of diesel to see if it will leak... so far so good![]()
