    300 TDI oil leak

On a 300 tdi there is 4 holes along the block in line with the cam shaft the 2nd one from the front started pumping oil out. Is there a plug or something that has fell out ? I suspect they are for drillings for the cam bearings. Any help would be good Thank you..

From memory they are threaded so nip them up with some sealant.

    Re oil leak

After some investigation those holes are drillings through the block for oil galleries and are filled with silicone so they not noticeable. I would say they would be blocked off with the cam bush witch only has one hole at the bottom. So thinking the cam bush / bearing might have moved letting the oil soften the silicone sealer blowing it out with the oil pressure. If that is the case i will scrap it it don"t owe me a brass razoo...

It was the lifter retainer screws i'm thinking of that are threaded, your going to scrap a motor because of a leak ?
