    Weird Defender Electrical fault/s

Hoping the brains trust out there has experienced this as there is nothing quite like it with a search..
1999 TD5 Defender. We just completed a 22,000k trip over WA/NT with lots of horrible corrugations after about half, the horn stopped working. A quick check showed that it must be the column switch, so it would have to wait till home.
I just fitted the new column switch & still no go, plus, I now find the two front indicators near the headlights won't work either !! The front side indicators & the ones on the ARB front bulbar, do work however. Its not the globes as they work if fitted to the sidelights at the front. Go figure. Not sure if that problem is new or related to my removing them to get at the horn behind the headlight ( which was aftermarket Stebel & full of gunk so useless anyway.
I've replaced the Stebel & it works if I run a live wire to its relay under the bonnet, but not from the new switch.
All fuses have been checked with a circuit tester & OK. The front indicators are hanging loose, but as they have an earth return I can't see this being a factor, besides there is no power at the cable using a trouble light properly earthed when all the other indicator lights flash.
Is there a relay somewhere? Hazards work on all lights bar the front ones as well. !!

Well, problems are solved.. In case others have horn problems ( in their Defender at least) Somehow the 100 Amp fusable link burned out, which is odd as there is a 20 amp fuse in the same under seat compartment a bit further on. You need good eyes to spot it as I only found it with a continuity tester.
As for the indicators, at some point, perhaps with the bullbar fitment, a second connector was fitted each side for the front indicators & the originals disconnected. I don't know why..The second connectors had dropped down & I was trying to get the indicators working thru the originals. All good now but I answered my own post in case someone has a similar issue.

I had a similar experience with one of the fusible links under seat kept blowing.
Turned out one of the glowpug wires had come off and was touching the earthing out on the manifold.
