Picture of the engine?
I bought a "Landrover " engine sight unseen and it turned out to be not the one which was advertised.
It is brand new but with some shipping damage. The markings on it are 10 DZ 80 CX2Q 6L 084 BA DW12 CTED4/E5 224DT
It is 4 cylinder turbo diesel with cast iron block with FoMo cast in it
Can any body identify what it might be ?
I am going to have to sell it and don't want to mislead the next buyer.

The ... DW12 CTED4 .... code is recognised as a PSA engine.
(eg. my dads little Pug uses the DV6TED4 engine)
224DT comes up as a LR engine for various models(Freelander, Evoque, and whatnot).
As the 2.2 is a collaboration between Ford and PSA, partly built by both .. FoMo wouldn't be unusual on the casting.
The Ford engine code for the 2.2(Puma) should be ZSD224.
had a quick search, and it seems that PSA code is the highest power rated motor in that series. 150Kw and 450Nm .. that should make an old Series drive nicely!

The searches I have done throw up "DW12 BTED4. Mine is CTED4.
There is also the suggestion it might be OK for Pugs and Citroens and Evoques in some of the Google responses.
So what is it REALLY.
Oldie
YES!
DW12 is the motor generation:
in that generation you have sub models, and these sub models have the various power values
TED4 = about 90Kw/314Nm
BTED4 = ~125-129Kw/370-400Nm : BTED4 has two variants the lower rated version has a 4HT suffix, so is DW12BTED4HT. The non HT version is the higher rated output model.
CTED4 = 150Kw/450Nm
If you block has the CTED4 designation, then most likely the higher rated version.
Used in Mondeos, C5s, 508s .... among others.

Thanks Arthur,
Somebody has also suggested it might fit a Ford Territory so given your Mondeo suggestion, I was wondering about that also.
And what about Evoque. ?

Can't you use the engine number to determine what the engine is from ?
