Anyone used the Torrel Disc brake kit from Rocky Mountain US? Any problems getting engineered?
Also does anyone know if Cookie is going to make kits again?

Forum brains trust,
what is the latest on disc brake conversions for a series 2A 109 SW? Searching the forums and internet seems to have a lot of options in the past but nothing recent. I have sent emails to Zeus but no response, are they still making?
What would be the way to go today if going down this path? I currently have an original single line 2A system that is rusted out and needs all components replaced so looking to make the most out of the change. The engine is the original 2.25 petrol so don't really need to upgrade in this configuration too much, but may go for an engine upgrade too so thinking let's just go and do it properly the first time for a long time motoring quality.
Not made of money either so an economical one good too!

It will be a 4 cyl. Plenty of 6cyl series 3 LWB Ex army units being wrecked. They have beefier front brakes & boosters with no engineering needed. I would think there is no online articles recently regarding conversions as it is no longer mainstream but more in the realm of enthusiast.

I’ve been trying to get hold of Cookey - apparently still has some parts but not sure of anything else at this point. Will advise when/if I get hold of him. There’s more than one person chasing a set at the moment.
FYI from my own research Zeus don’t reply to emails, but will take calls. They can be a PITA to deal with. Be aware that standard LR rims cannot be used on this conversion. The later model Series rims (not the riveted ones) will fit Cookeys and one other - which eludes me at the moment...

I'll was going to do my own conversion before I converted to Electric but seems pointless now I have regen braking but I'll have a crack at doing a series Disc conversion again once my Dodge is on the road, be about 6 months before I get onto it though. It's critical for me that the original SWB rim will be able to fit over it, as a Defender rim is just wrong on a Lightweight
Ive done a few disc conversions for different cars now. I have a guy happy to CNC mill the small quantities of caliper brackets once I've proved the prototype, he's done 80 plus of my Iveco kits.
Just for interest heres my Dodge prototype kit on the kingpin front end, drums are no longer available & not being re-manafactured, ( its 70 years old) , Theres kits made in the USA but look pretty flimsy to me & are $1600 Landed, worse is they wont accept the original rim and shocker is in the way of caliper. My conversion uses a Mazda rotor ($70 pair) and a Rodeo caliper ($200 pair). bit cheaper and much better than the USA kit.
My '49 Dodge 4 wheel disc conversion passed VASS Engineering on Wednesday , no booster needed, Engineer was suitably impressed. Am having CAD generated so I can get the alloy brackets CNC made by the same guy that makes my Iveco brake upgrade.
Now Ive got a Series3 front end in piece es so Im juggling the rotors and calipers left over from the Dodge, will see what I can come up with.
I assume you've seen: Series disc brake conversion --- I did it my way

What is available now?
Has anyone used the Disc Brake Conversion from Jaunt Land Rover Series Front Disc Brake Kit
– Jaunt Workshop Its local so easier to get I imagine.
The Zeuss kit says it needs 16J wheels.
I am using the 6 1/2 inch 130 rims on my FC . Are these 16J ?
Is anyone picking up making Cookies kit?
Keith
The 130 rims won't work with the Design & Development / Jaunt setup, the caliper will foul the rim. You'll need either Wolf rims, or Disco 1 rims.
I went with the DDE kit as I had the gear to machine the hubs myself.
