Just looking at the prospect of having a swing away mount for a small motor bike at the rear of my defender. has anyone attempted, heard of it being done. The spare tyre would have to be relocated, but the door would be happy with that.

    cheers

Should be OK as long as it's mounted to the chassis....

Just watch the weight distribution as that extra weight, so far over from the rear wheels, will cause the front end to come up slightly (counter ballance with the spare on the bonnet... ).

I used to have a LWB ragtop with a 100cc Kwakka trail bike mounted like the SAS.
No real probs, I did some rugged trips with that setup. I do recall the rear end losing it once on a gravel bend and the weight of the bike made it a lot more severe. I live to tell.
