Sorry, didn't see your response. No oil in the harness anywhere.

And the oil leak saga continues.
I can confidently say that the oil is not coming from the rocker cover seal, the rear camshaft seal, the FPR, the intake manifold (put a new gasket in), or the injector harness.

The oil seems to creep along the lower end of the camshaft cover from the front of the engine just above the fuel line from the FPR and drop down the rear of the head from just above the black head lift hoop.
It actually looks like it comes out of the head from just in front of the fuel line crimp. Is this possible?

No sign of oil at the front of the head. The first trace of oil is above no 2 cylinder.

If I may be a little out there and make myself sound stupid.......(lol, coz that's weird).....
What's the "O" ring(s) condition on the dipstick? There's no signs of any form of Capillary action going on there??? Td5 oil leak, can't find source No creeping of oil out, up, along the tube?
Just a weird thought....I thought I'd put out there....

I cleaned and degreased the engine multiple times and the only persistent/reoccurring trace of oil starts at around no 2 cylinder between the head and the camshaft cover (not the rocker cover).

I'm surprised the rocker cover isn't leaking, it shouldn't bulge out like that.
It's as if the metal shanks that normally live between the bolts and the rubber grommet are missing.
One purpose they have is to set the correct height so the rocker cover gasket doesn't get over tightened and split

So you have found the leak by the sounds of it, between the cam carrier and the head.
AFAIK this is sealed by sealant which has failed.
You now have to decide whether to dismantle the head to fix it or live with it.
    I would live with it.

Yeah that rocker seal doesn't look right, but as mentioned the leak will be between the head and cam Carrier,

You'll have to have a hard think about that one, the effort / reward ratio may not be too your liking!

Replaced the rocker cover seal again (and also learned that there are two different types) and now it is fairly evident that the oil comes from between the head and the cam carrier. Car is going into the workshop for something else and I'll have a chat with them to see what it takes to fix it. Might be a good opportunity to think about replacing the cam plugs and anything else that would be smart to replace on a 250k engine.
    Cheers Joachim
