Definitely Mick. Big trucks and 3100kg trailers. Interesting how good the big diesels are inladen also. I get better than 30mpg full laden in my MR Triton auto towing 1000kg of boat.

Interestingly the best of them - Dodge Ram Ecodiesel weighs only about 2225kg unladen (spec defending ...range is a little lighter and a little heavier).

So if you add my unladen weight at 2045kg anf then trailer, 3 blokes and all my camping gear including second N70 battery etc I am at a combined total of 3450 kg min. So I am achieving the same mpg with a 2.4 diesel as the unlearn Dodge but with over 1tonn more than when Dodge is unladen. That's the price you pay for a big diesel (or V8 petrol) when not towing.

But, if I was towing 3100kg I would be probably getting the same figures as the Ram towing but nowhere near as effortlessly.

    Cheers

    I hate inaccuracy!

    3.58 litres = US Gallon
    4.54 litres = Imperial Gallon
