    series 3 radiator

    hello peoples,

    i have an 83 model, series 3, LWB, 3.5ltr V8 petrol, landy. i have rebuilt the motor and now i need a radiator as the orignal is no good.
    can anyone shed some light on the subject for me please

    Whats wrong with the old one,has it perished or is the motor none genuine and the rad to big/to small.
    Find good top and bottom tanks from a SIIA or SIII and get a rad man to add them to a 4 core + expansion tank on the side and your away.

    Sorry if its a stage one V8 just redo the core if the (side) tanks are any good, if not maybe a early mod county rad will do.

    its just old and had cores blanked off here and there to stop leaking and so on
    and a rad man want 800 for a heavy duty 4 core with my tanks (cause there ok condition) so just doing some research to try and find a cheaper option.

    Wooooooo thats a little rich 8hunge for a core and labour.!

    yeah i know but i have been shooping around for 6 weeks now and the cheapest for a standard recore was $690.

    im getting ****ed off about it now!

    not sure what to do?

    go to the wreckers and have a wander around...and see if you can match it up to
    any other car.....

    something has to have something which is the same size and with the tanks and hoses in almost
    identical positions......


    with a lot smaller price tag......









    just a thought.....

    well i spoke to another rad man today and he can do a 3 core recore for 450 or a brand new 4 core for 600.
    im goin down there to have a chat to him tomorrow!

    might go the newie will last forever tthen i guess.

    Years ago i had a s11a with a 4.4 v8 terrier motor and that had a ford xd , xc v8 xflow radiator in it it worked fine in summer 39 to 40 degrees
