    1999 Discovery 2 SLABS upgrade

I have upgraded the SLABS ECU in my 99 build Discovery 2.
    Took a SRD000070 out, put a SRD000150 in.

Next, I plugged in the HAWKEYE and individually cycled thru the menu options and cleared the old DTCs, then set the suspension from SLS to COIL.

However, in commencing the process of reading and clearing the DTCs, when selecting and tabbing through the ABS menu option the HAWKEYE duly recognised the SLABS by showing an id number but with the added suffix ‘unknown’.
Now this wasn’t unexpected for a first time connection after an upgrade but it’s still the same with subsequent HAWKEYE connections.

Is it the SLABS that is ‘unknown’ to the HAWKEYE, or to the other onboard ECUs ie BCU, ECM ACE. Is there some programming that needs to be done as part of the upgrade to ‘pair the upgraded device. Days of searching of this forum and the www have not yet provided an answer.
Have any forum members had any experience with this....?

Hi. It's only about the SLABS cos when you are in that particular menu no other ECUs are interogated, that "unknown" thing is irrelevant IMO even though i can't explain why it happens, you can't do anything about it but no worries cos it has no involvment in functionality, happened to me too and i simply neglected it.

    Thanks SF,
After spending more time interrogating the various menu options, and whilst tapping thru in ABS CM Data I found the stored VIN Number of the donor vehicle. So I assume the “unknown” thing to be the software recognising a CM Data mis-match. I have Version 5.00 of the HAWKEYE D2 Diagnostic software and since my original post I’ve become aware that there is a later version or update, and that under ABS > Programming there is an additional option of New ABS CM .... see the screen grabs below from a Hawkeye user manual found on a South African website, the document date was 2014.

It might before worthwhile enquiring if Bearmach is still accepting the devices back for for upgrading as they were doing early on ..

Mine is updated. The only thing which is additional for D2 in v.6 is the SLS calibration.

Do you happen to know if there is a v.7. Below is the front cover and title page of the manual that I downloaded - note the date 04/2014 and what is possibly an English edition number. You would expect that “New ABS CM” was implemented if it is referenced in a user manual...

That’s curious .... I will email BEARMACH and ask if “New ABS CM” was ever implemented in any version of the D2 Hawkeye diagnostic package.
