some of them are not 12v heaters, just fans and need to be plumbed into cooling, they then deliver XX Watts of heat with coolant at YY deg C.

the one that I fitted for a friend was quickly removed as the case melted where the vibrations had caused the element supports to fail and drop onto the plastic.

I've had a couple of tales of them being ok for de-icing the windows but the power draw on them is not insignificant.

I'd suggest a diesel heater instead.

Strange in the description is that Power = 800W while Current = 10A, doesnt seem realistic to me ... IMO an electric heater which throws 10A at 12v can't deliver more than 120W , the first in this top TOP 10 Best Portable Car Heaters 2020 | Buyer†s Guide has only 2.7 from 5 rating on amazon but at least they are fair to show that it needs 15A at 180W https://www.amazon.com/RoadPro-12-Vo...000HX1MA2?th=1 i've had a strong one years ago in my old Patrol which threw 40A and it wasnt very efficient when it was cold... I'd not buy the one you linked

anything that uses an element to heat is a fire risk especially a $25 Chinese jobbie I wont risk it.

When I used to trade in a few used cars a couple of times I used 12V. hair dryers up under the dash and connected to the demister ducts to get around a leaking heater core without spending excessive $$$$ on a cheapie. A demister is required to get a Safety Certificate (RWC) and the cheap hair dryers filled the bill nicely. I have not been able to find any for sale recently not even at Supercheap. I got a couple from Harbour Freight tools in Lomita for US $12 each. Some of the prices asked for spare parts heater cores are crazy plus the labour required to fit one.
