utilising suspension air compressor for duel role

Air bag suspension, Can the compressors be modified with a tap and an air hose connection to utililse the compressor for tyre inflation?

    Is the compressor big enough?

I would presume bags would have to be deflated and bypassed during operation to avoid over inflation and a case of the ol' busted bags syndrome

I've search forums but cannot find anything (perhaps I'm blind)

the compressor is big enough but it would be an expensive mod just for the wear that you would place on the compressor plus they have a built in pressure relief valve not sure what they are set at,also you would have to rig up a switch to turn the compressor on this may cause problems with the computer and fault codes also the air outlet is fairly small so would restrict air flow.

one mod I did with mine was to fit a speed controller to the compressor outlet this allows unrestricted flow into airbags but slows the deflation of the airbags I did this after noticing that when it was full of camping gear and going down a bank this would dump air but it would go down to quick then the compressor would come on since I have done this the compressor does not run as long or often cost about $45 for the parts
disco seriesII mods so far:-bullbar,hyd winch,
detriot locker, lsd front,C.D.L kit, chipped and bigger intercooler,2" lift, rock sliders, lsd in transfer case, modified auto trans.

I dont have bag suspension 'twas just a thought that I had on what could have been a useful mod for rangie/ disco owners, obviously not. I didn't take the r2d2 type dash faults and "think deep" type ECU's on modern landies into consideration

I apologise for wasting everyones time and will go outside and beat my head with the disco door.

Yep, and the normal transmission oil leaks will help heal the wound quickly

    stop that dobbo!
    nothing wrong with the idea!
it does seem a bit funny to have to go out and buy a compressor to do tyres when there already is one on board. ( where's that damn RAVE CD?)

I'm sure our more learned collegues will set us straight.
