    Wheel weights

i will be removing the weights from a set of wheels so i can paint them (tyres on) and will replace the clamp on with adhesive weights, the weights are all clamped on the front of the rims except for one which is on the rear.
All rims have the residue from the last stick on weights on the inside flat area which is where i assume most are fitted these days, i don't have a way of checking the balance except by some crude method but wondering if the rim with the rear fitted weight will be an issue when i move the weight ?

If the wheel was balanced with care then it was put on the back for a reason, so moving the weight would unbalance the wheel.
Probably more of a consideration is that the paint will most likely affect the balance anyway, so just putting weights back in the same place may not give you closure.

I'd give it a whirl Nick and see how they feel back on the car - nothing to lose really - if they wobble, then you'll have to get them balanced anyway, but worth a try IMO - you may be lucky.

Exactly , if I was replacing the tyres I wouldn't worry but will just wing it and see how they go.
