    Extending D2 ABS sensor cables

Extending D2 ABS sensor cables - who has done it?
I have had a 40mm lift and coil insert airbags at the rear for a decade now but have never got around the extending the standard ABS cables to compensate for the increased height and axle articulation although I have have installed extended braided brake lines. Occasionally the speedo needle is swings erratically with accompanying loss of speed signal DTCs being logged. Repositioning the cables and securing the connectors cures the immediate problem only to return when next the suspension gets a workout. So the time has come to extend the cables, luckily I have kept the old cables from previous hub replacements and will utilise them to extend to match and follow the length of the brake lines which they cannot do at the moment. My question is how important is the polarity of the wires - my thought was it was not critical in this application .... am I correct? and any tips and tricks would be welcomed.

Have you tried just pulling some of the cable through on the front, you will have to change how the connector is clipped in and held by the body. On the rear you can space the mount down a bit on the chassis but Wabco do have, or did have have extension lengths that suit the rear (or front).

I cut up an old genuine Waboc cable and soldered it in to extend mine. Has worked fine over the years and thousands of kms.
