    Wading Plug ERC7295 200TDi 1993 Defender 110

    Hello All,

Is there any problem with not having the flywheel housing Wading Plug Part Number ERC7295 fitted?

I went under my 1993 Defender 110 with a 200tdi to remove the wading plug so I could fit a timing locking pin to the flywheel. From there I could lock off the Bosch Injector Pump and adjust its timing if necessary prior to the pump's removal.

As per the instructions in Trailerfitter's Toolbox Videos at the 1:48 minute mark onwards; accessed 29th October 2020 from, Bosch VE Pump timing check with cover plate on - Land Rover 200tdi and 300tdi diesel engines - YouTube

At the 5:00 minute mark it shows the Injector Pump Timer Pin being positioned. What the camera angle does not show is what proportion of the pin's length going into the hole indicates that the pin is fitted to its correct depth - so that it is successfully "locked"?

    Kind regards
    Lionel

It's been a few years since I did mine, but as I remember push the injector timing pin all the way in, and it stops positively, in that it won't go inwards any more.
