Make that two!🤣
Maybe i love the old way too much but surely there is an engine joint remaining in the Rat who can re-size conrods. That is: correct length and no twist.
The first motor I built with the help of my grandfather was a 1500 VW flat motor and I had the rods done in Geelong for next to nothing based on his input.
The classic Chev rebuild DIY book has a few pics of crazy bent rods that were resized with no probs. Something to do with the metal they are made from, from memory.

I have never heard of such a thing!
Land Rover Parts - CON ROD - 3.5+3.9 V8
it looks like all the V8's (3.5, 3.9, 4.0) have the same conrod. I"m sure I'll be able to chase one up locally without many dramas :) (Well I'd hope I could either way!).
