Cool Steering Box Relay, nil — Me, 1

After trying the usual heat, cool, bash, penetrating fluid, jack, etc. song and dance to remove a stubborn steering box relay from my series 2a, I switched to a sure fire method to get it out that I haven't seen done before.

After removing all of the internal workings (very carefully because the spring reaaaally does fly) from the relay box, I simply did the stuck-bearing trick and sawed it out. The amount of dirt that was compacted around it was incredible and I could see that the penetrating fluids were doing bugger all and that bashing and heating was probably only making the dirt more compacted.

The Sutton Tools 300mm 18TPI Cobalt Hacksaw Blade made pretty short work of it, about 30 minutes of sawing in total split up over a few sessions to save my back. I spent countless hours trying other methods so can recommend going straight to cutting it out if you think you've got a stuck one. Just be careful not to go through to the chassis as I did a little on the second cut.
