225/75s are about it:(

my 245/75s with 2" lift still just catch the very bottom corner of the rear back guards as I found out up at the 7 mile diggings the other weekend

it was at full travel as the car was balancing on the two opposite wheels:angel:

and the lugs were just rubbing enough to take the paint off:p:D:D:D

so at least I now know exactly how much more to cut off

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think at one of the LROC meetings a couple of months ago we were told that Hankooks are actually Taiwanese built Yokos!!!

WOW.. hadn't heard that. if that's true it's very interesting. They have surpassed my expectations. They were 160 each, and the equivalent yoko was 280 :eek: :eek:

Bugger, was wrong - they are Korean. But there is a cheap tyre brand that is a Taiwanese built Yoko - will check which one.

Nankangs are apparently a licenced Yoyohama copy, coming out of Taiwan. Different tread patterns, but same carcass.

Josh Pryke brought them to a Sydney LROC mtg a few months ago. Not sure where you'd get them in other states.

Anyway the catch is that the tread depth isn't as deep as say a BFG. Chaeper yes, but they'll wear out sooner.
