Lr4 2015 Discovery Adaptive Cruise Radar module access

    Hi Guys,
My first post! I've done some research, think I know the answer, but would grateful for confirmation.

I have a faulty module radar module behine the bumper. I have done some reading, know what needs to be replaced, what module to get etc.

What I am not 100% sure about is how the module is accessed. All the videos/image I have found seem like custom jobs or Range Rover specific. From what I can tell - I probably need to remove the front bumper to replace the faulty module.

Can replacement be done without pulling apart the front of the car though?

I am ok on the tools, but working solo and VERY time poor atm. If I can it without pulling apart the front, I will, but just trying to confirm exactly what is involved on a LR4.
    Any guidance appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Shanan

I'm interested to know how you concluded that the module is faulty and even if everything points to the module as being faulty, the wiring to it could be damaged.

    Thanks for posting.

Well - I am pretty confident it is the radar because the dealership said that was the issue. Had it assessed.
Went into some weird loop mode or something - dealer said it was stuffed.

That's not to say that something else has not contributed, but the assessment was replace the module, not the harness.

The way I see it - could be either:
    - the wiring harness,
    - the sonar sensor (radar module)
    - cruise switch (unlikely)

Errors and issue apparently pointed towards the sonar according to LR dealer - hence my question.

From what I can tell, headlights out, front wheel lips off, then front bumper (minding the wiring looms, and water washer hoses). Just hoping there was an easier way.

That's what I am checking before I make a final judgement call on doing it myself or farming it out.

    Cheers,
    Shanan

When I removed my MY10 D4's bumper to fit a bull-bar the biggest issue was avoiding scratching the paint on the front of the guards due to the width and being only in the middle. My L322's radar unit can only be accessed by removing the bumper so I haven't bothered to make the slight alignment correction that it needs.

Has the radar unit's fuse been R&R'd or the battery disconnected to cause a restart? It has permanent power as well as an ignition feed.
