Lightest reasonable quality driving lights - need to keep total weight under 1.5kg

    Hi all,

Would like to hang some driving lights off my front nudge bar - dont have to be LED which might keep weight down - and I need to have them totalling 1.5kg all up or less.

I was thinking Cibie Oscars - I have the supers in my D2 and they are not heavy either so the Oscars should be fine. Other options? Looking for roo spotting on highways at higher speed.

    Cheers

The older Lightforce halogens I have are all polycarbonate and very lightweight. Great quality light, focusable and have different front covers that allow for spot or flood. Not planning to replace mine with LED's.

Mate nice one thanks. I forgot about them. The smaller ones (6 inch) would be spot (no pun intended) on. However they might stick out too far - the Cibie has the mount mid light that allows it to be set back.

Mike the stainless factory nudge bar has a 1.5kg rating for lights hanging off it. For a number of reasons I don't want to go a bull bar so I'm stuck with light lights. The LED headlights are excellent but its always good to have more.

Right, found a good little light. The Narva Explorer 175 LED driving light. 1.25kg in total for 2. Easily mounted in spots under Nudge Bar that are pre-threaded for the factory light bar (mine doesnt have the bar). They throw a very good beam by all accounts. Intersting light as they run an LED Tube that I havent seen before (very nice shiny reflector). Not what I am used to with Super Cibie HID on the D2 but they are a supplement to already very good LED's and with the right set up should spread out well. $120 at Anaconda on special. Narva loom delivered $89. Stedi 3Amp illuminated push switch for MR Triton to fit in factory blanks - $19 delivered. Job jobbed.
