Get on the phone to ULR 9864 3535, Range Rove Automotive 9874 3111, and compare prices. They will be stocked.

Not so hard - have a look at the book.

    Good luck :~)

I got mine from Britparts in Perth, but also Karcraft or LandRoves.com.
The Defender ones are cheap and nasty about $50ea. The Disco ones are a bit dearer and usually a bit more reliable. As mentioned all air must be evacuated from the system. I have to pull my finger out and send the one I replaced a couple of months ago and get it sent to Britparts who will get PBR in Perth to reline it in stainless steel, which apparently lasts much longer.

Thanks for all the assitance guys, bled the slave cylinder this morning and the problem has cleared. There was quite a bit of air in the system. Now I have a clutch!

Interestingly, I did ring the above places just to see the difference in price. Amazingly there was a $98 difference in price between the two places to buy the master cylinder off the shelf.

OK who had what price? Nice to know, may help the other drop their price.

Range Rov were cheaper, $155 for the part off the shelf and $86 to fit it for you. ULR were $253 for the part and I didn't bother asking how much to fit

Clutches can be a pig to bleed.

One good tip that I saw on another forum was:

After flushing out the old fluid, connect one end of a length of plastic tubing to the bleed nipple on the slave cylinder. Place the other end of the hose into the reservoir of the master cylinder, below the fluid level (so that it can't suck air). Then loosen the bleed nipple and pump the pedal to bleed the air from the system.

That really annoys me. There should not be anywhere near that price difference. Overheads, bulldust, there should be no more than a 10% difference from workshops or suppliers. The really disturbing thing is I have seen Disco ones as low as $120 and Defender ones as low as $55. Maybe we should start a page and list the comparative prices, suppliers and brands,
