I’m about to install a re-build kit plus an Ashcroft ATB into a newly sleeved transfer case. At the moment I am washing and inspecting the reusable bits which includes that weighty vibration absorber (aka damper) and on inspection I see that the rubber is showing its age. Question: My vehicle is a 1999 build D2 auto, just how crucial is this item? Will I regret not re-fitting it ….?
