    Defender Cup Holders

Has anyone with a late model Defender fitted one of the slip-on plastic cupholder/trinket trays advertised on British 4WD's website (http://www.british4wd.com/)?

I would be keen to see photos - seems like a simple idea but I would like to view the finished, installed item. Otherwise, has anybody got any other intelligent, cost-effective solutions since Landrover really don't want Defender drivers to drink and drive.

someone once said of the p38 rangies lack of cup holders "If one can afford a range rover, one can stop off for a cup of tea"

Not relevant but thought I'd share it

The best impromptu cupholder I've seen was a roll of packing tape taped down onto the dashboard

Yep had mine for a while. Finishes the gear box hump off nicely. Even put drinks in it once.

    Note the Rangie handbrake.

    forget the cups......just bring straws.....

you dont have the standard drink holders in yours....?
or do you normally have more than two drinks at a time.....?

    AND,
Don't forget the Ice Box, located conveniently behind the 2 cup holders.

Looks OK - maybe not quite as snug around the gear lever boot as I hoped. I note from the blurb that it just sits on there with no fixings. Do you find it stays put or does it move about a bit. Any rattles or vibrations?

Its actually very snug, does not move or rattle. I think its helps dampen the gearbox whine also. "Bonus".

$88 worth of convenience and $1 worth of plastic.

They're $80 locally (5min up the road). A mate with a 200Tdi Defender bought one. His Defender was missing some of the insulation around the transmission tunnel. He made up some insulation & had to apply a heat gun to the cup holder to get it to fit. Once in it looks good, is sturdy and handy.

    It just seems sooooo expensive.
