Just had my cubby box re-upholstered in black to match the slip on cup holder thingy. I love the unit myself. The fact that it is not bolted down makes removal easy for cabling inside cab or to gain access to the fuse box and relays behind it.
Had not thought of putting some sound proofing underneath - might give this a burl. At the same time am going to put some sort of sound proofing underneath the cubby box while it is out to see if it removes a little more drivetrain noise.
If you guys need any retrimming done have found a great place in Windsor - have done a fantastic job of my cubby box and am soon to get quotes for hoodlining, refreshing of plastic window trims and to re-uphoster and reshape the front seats. Will post an update when I get more info.

I have insulated under the cupholder, also under the cubby box, seatbox lids (inside the lid and on top), and behind the seats on the floor panels, and under the floor mats and the gearbox housing panels. Sounds a lot better!

Just thought I'd post the link to a thread I put up some time back regarding cheap, easy re-lining of the inside of a Defender Cubby-box.

This will tide me over until I can get a properly secure cubby in black to match everything else.

Well I need to wake this thread up again - I have spent a bit of time today trying to track down this elusive cup-holder accessory here in Brisbane with no luck.
Asked Southside Landrover service - no response.
Asked Austral Landrover parts - never heard of such a thing.
Asked at FWD motors at Moorooka - never heard of it.
So who said they had a dealer/genuine parts place who has them over the counter?

Get them to check in the parts catalogue under "miscellaneous". They should be there.

With my older 110 I mounted 4 Plastic Holders at a cost of $1.50 from Super Cheap Auto to the Cubby Box. 2 At Front and 2 At Rear. Worked a Treat.
They were not in the way of anything. Good for tinnies and cans etc, however, no good for a South Aussie Farmers Union Ice Coffee.
Mitsubishi have deviced a solution for the Ice Coffee, haven't seem them anywhere else though.

Excellent - I'll get the GST back since it's a work vehicle.
