    Intercooler question

I want to fit an intercooler to a 4.0 litre Perkins turbo. I have a spare D2 IC. Would it be adequate?

Bigger the better. It will do something, but if theres room for a bigger one, go bigger. Whats the core dimensions of the d2 one?

You need to know the flow characteristics of the engine and then size the cooler to suit.

Bigger isn’t better, correctly sized and effective is.
Undersized is worse obviously Intercooler question

Flow characteristics? Does a Phaser 110 even have them?

Thats what i meant, the d2 one would be getting on the smaller size and without knowing the tune etc..would get a bit of heat soak. (Still better than nothing)

I believe there are 2 different size td5 ones???? Later being a thicker core??

Mines early. It was just a thought as I have one. I'll do a bit more research. They aren't generally expensive.

As to the tune, well there isn't one. It feels a little like the turbo is a bit of a passenger, which is apparently normal. 110 HP and 5 tonnes. And the 38s don't help. I've got a boost gauge coming, but the thing is a non WG turbo. They run a VE pump like the 300TDi, so with a WG and IC you'd think it could be woken up a bit.

Yep. Getting both. The Perkins can apparently handle EGTs that would startle D1 owners.
