Yes D1 rims will fit, probably without the spacer, the nave of the Wolf rim just touches the caliper, the D1 nave looks like it will clear but I don't have a rim to try.

I have some original Girling M16 calipers (need reconditioning) that the wolf rims don't interfere with , the modern reproduction M16 calipers have a slightly different casting profile. Also as I tried to make an original rim fit, I made the calipers sit about 2mm closer to the swivel housing than need be with the Wolf rims (and took 3mm off the outside circumference the rotors) , pushing them out again would also probably negate the need for spacers.

Also note Cookeys disc brake conversion used the 6mm spacers made from old brake drums & had engineering approval. Precedents matter when dealing with VASS engineers.

No spacers needed on rear axle as the wolf rims clear without them.

Some are $180 each and some up to $280 each for the Wolf rim.
Another question. I just read that some wolf are 0 offset and some are 21mm. What did you get?

I don't know .

But a Wolf wheel is 6.5" a Disco wheel is 7"

5-1/2" LWB Series rims are 1/2" wider on the inside and rub the chassis on full lock , I'm happy that the Wolf rims dont rub

Here is one of the 5" SWB series wheel compared to Wolf . You can see the well in the hoop is deeper on the Series rims which is the main problem they wont fit over most disc conversions.

Defineltly 21mm offset, 0 offset are like reversed rims and would stick out a further 21mm past the guard.

I don't know why anyone would pay more than the $180 , the only difference is the $180 rims have the part number stamped on the backside in the hoop of the rim & not out in the open on the nave , They are made by the OEM manufacturer & there presentation in the box is amazing with protector strips around the edges like they were destined for a supercar. Shipping was 2 days - amazing.

I just painted mine green straight over the powder coating with a rattle can.

I only got 4 wheels, If I get a flat an original wheel will fit the back , and If I get a flat on the front I'll have to swap the rear to the front .

Have you looked at the NRC7578 wheels fitted to the 110 and early Defender? I have had these for some time on my 2a for a couple of reasons - they allow a better turning circle on the 2a, and the commonality of wheels and tyres with the 110 means it is sometimes convenient to be able to interchange them.

For example - I am driving the 110 to Brisbane tomorrow, and while checking it over and servicing it on Friday, found the spare was flat - it has not been off the back door since being repaired! To take it back to be fixed properly would mean a 60km trip into town, allot easier to pinch a wheel off the 2a.

I am running the 6.5 130 rims with 255-100-16 Michelin XZL in the old 2B FC I have reconverted to a camper. I had them on the 6x6 camper I built 20 years ago as well. Its a shame but I really would like to stop better so it looks like Wolf rims are the go.

I have Disco D1 rims on my 110 but dont like them much. If I go Wolf I can use the 130 rims on the 110 then[bigsmile1]

They wont fit over the disc brake conversions as the inside diameter of the bead well is too small, this chart does a reasonable job at comparing the relative offsets of various rims . but does not show shallow bead well on the wolf rim.

The same Girling M16 front calliper I used is found on the Rolls Royce Silver Shadow.,
But cost 3x the price

The look of the Wolf rims is growing on me. I like how the Free wheel hubs no longer stick out past the tyres.

Not the end of the story yet. I'm running without a booster because I have no Vacuum, (Electric Vacuum pumps are very noisy). Ive just bought a Gen2 iBooster (tesla Model3) , so will install that & see what a difference it makes.
