I have the same Astra power steer pump in my Power Wagon, Should be more than good enough for the OKA . As Gav said , it's maybe too light on the highway , but wonderful wheeling around obstacles in the bush, the steering on these trucks is seriously heavy, and has the turning circle of the Queen Mary.Quote:

I did some testing on the local 'skid pan' The witches hats are 20m apart, I don't know why I bothered to have 80m worth of them.
I think I'll call it a day on the brakes. They really are decent brakes . first stop a bit wonky ,
for the next two faster stops I was gentler on the pedal. If I thought to turn regen off or had some weight in the back it might not have broke traction. I'll need to go easy in the wet.

(Reading through Cookeys 'brakes I did it my way' his engineer achieved stopping distance of 27m @ 80kmh, So I'm in that ballpark)

How did you set up the power steering. Ram or box? I had to go with Ram assist with the FC as there was no way to get any box I could find to fit. Works OK and I have a belt driven pump on a shaft from the front of the crankshaft. I would like to do away with that. Maybe next project is the Astra pump[bighmmm]Quote:

Pretty sure that's the box in the OKA. F150 was a common retrofit for the early ones as the original was rubbish. Sounding better and better.Quote:

Panic mode as I can't get another iBooster in time (& dont want to pay $$$ again) so adapted a 8" LandCruiser booster & 7/8" master cylinder which I bought for another project . And used a 12v vacuum pump from a Holden Cruze (eBay) , The pump is pretty quiet actually , can not hear it under way so pretty pleased with result . I had to fit a proportioning valve to keep engineer happy as Regen braking was contributing to rear wheel lock under heavy braking.
