The close clearance is radial rather than between the spokes and the outer face of the calliper and is inwards somewhat rather than near the spokes as the calliper slopes more or less parallel to the reducing diameter of the rim as it approaches the spokes.
L494 19" rims are 7.5" which suits the 255/60 tyre better but I was concerned that their less offset might adversely affect tracking and self-centering on loose or muddy surfaces, so used 19x8 D4 rims. D4 rims are more readily available too and therefore cheaper as I wanted 6 rims, so 2 sets of 4, leaving 2 to replace damaged ones as D4 19" rims aren't the strongest of rims if abused.

SubscriberHmm, interesting. This thread has made me go & stick my fingers between the 6 spot callipers and the 20" rims on my L494 - so plenty of room for 19" there, but I'll stick to 20"
There is also clearance of (guess) 4mm between the callipers & the spokes.. Certainly looks tighter than that.
Now to wash my hands!

Maybe you could fit these rims as clearance over the callipers looks OK.
