    My 300Tdi was serviced a few days ago and the air filter was quoted as ESR1445 ($39.23), all the other filter numbers match.

    There are many possibilities for Oil= fleetguard, LF551A, LF3487, LF3313, LF3487, LF3418, & LF3400
    Fuel= FF215, FS1221
    Donaldson Oil= P550008, P550095
    Fuel= P550688
    So from this exercise we can see that there are many possibilities that can be used and we haven't even listed all the other brands! So use the ones easiest to get then you can't go wrong.

    I thought that too....but isnt there a cheap copy out there called "cooper"...note the "S" is gone.

    Ive been told the the "Cooper" cheap copy of the "CooperS" are not good at all....anybody else heard or seen them?

    Interesting comment this. If you go here http://www.gud.com.au/ryco.htm which is the Ryco parent company site you find exactly that. There is a filter imported by GUD industries (Ryco) that is called Cooper. Perhaps someone more enlightened than me might be able to tell me if they are one and the same.
