79 SERIES 3 GEAR BOX TRANSFER CASE OIL LEAK?
OUR RECENTLY AQUIRED FFR PROJECT ,HAD BRAKE WORK DONE ON IT BY PREVIOUS OWNER ,I NOW DISCOVER WHEN CHECKING TRANSMISION OILS THAT THEY ALL APEAR TO BE NEW FRESH ,EXCEPT THAT THE REAR DIFF IS ONLY PARTIALY FULL ,NO LEAKS FROM AXCELS ALTHOUGH THE BACKING PLATES ARE SQUEEKY CLEAN FROM THE BRAKE JOB ,TOOKS TO ME AS IF THEY HAVE LEFT IT LOW SO THE OIL DIDNT CONTAMINATE THE NEW SHOES ,WAS GOING TO BE A FARM TRUCK SO ,NOT TOO STRESSSED ABOUT OIL LEVEL ,AND ALSO DISCOVERED THAT THE GEARBOX OIL WAS LOW BUT THE TRANSFER IS OVER FULL WHICH LOOKS TO ME LIKE A SEAL BETWEEN THESE HAS FAILED LEAKING THE OIL DOWN TO THE TRANSFER ,IS THERE IN FACT A SEAL IN THERE AND HOW DO I GO ABOUT REPLACEING IT ,LOOKS LIKE THE TRANSFER CASE HAS TO BE REMOVED TO DO SO OR DOUSE THE COMPLETE TRANSMISSION HAVE TO BE REMOVED FROM THE CAR ,HOW DIFFICULT ARE THE AXLE SEALS ,DO I NEED A PRESS ?

This was a common problem in the series land rovers. There will be someone who knows how to go about it , but I remember way back, where some owners used to run a tube between the filler plugs and over fill the lower box so they would equalize. I think the bearing between the two would spin in the housing letting the oil through. I am sure more knowledgeable owners will let you know if I am wrong.

Why are you yelling. ALL Capitals are difficult to read, or is your caps lock stuck?
As you say its a Farm truck, if your not worried about oil on the brake shoes ( I would be) then excessive oil in the TC and low gearbox oil is also not a major problem. Just drain the excessive TC oil and top up the gearbox, check every few years, not worth the effort to replace a seal for that issue . The gearbox will leak of its own accord even with a new seal.
