Have you got the ''O'' ring number or size? As I've got to do this soon as well. At a quick look it seems to be above the fuel tank so you should only lose from the engine back but if I'm wrong please tell us.

    Loss of Fuel

You will only lose whats in the sedimenter. This can be drained into a container through the small bleed screw in the bottom.

I found it was easier to remove the whole sedimenter because the bolt that holds the bowl on is on top and a b**ch to get to.

Yeeeesssss.... But it's rare for that blead screw to come undone without shearing off!!!! It's easier to drop the container & just empty out.

Actually that happened to me - the plastic screw head just breaks off. You can replace it with a metal bolt and fibre washer.. It is a whitworth thread so I found out.

Well jobs done...much easyer than I thought it would be.

Only probs was I couldent find the shim inside the bowl they were talking about until it was back on and thought "You Dickhead" ! it was there all the time just looked part of the bowl.....it has kind of lungs on the inside where the plastic cone sits......oh well I will get it out next time !

Bowel was caked in **** ....looked Like sand , small pubbles or mud in there...looked really bad......but just cleaned it all out...didnt need to replace the o rings, but I did put the new bung or bleeder plug & seal in..

It will be interesting to see how much crap is in there aftrer a few months

Also there wasnt enough room to get the top bolt out...next time I will take bolts out of the bracket and support the head and get the bolt out there is a o ring for it.

aside from the odd bit of maintenance, what possessed you to want to clean it out, was it a performance problem???
