    Name that tool

Hi guys went to sydney on the weekend and the stop start traffic work finished off the rubber flange on the tail shaft, i have the gear to swap it over but was wondering if someone could tell me the name of the tool used to pull the shaft locating pin out of the centre of the pinion flange so i can get to the nut, i know slunnie used one to get his out but i am stuffed i know the name and all the tool suppliers dont have a bloody clue. Its different to a normal puller so if someone could give me a name to work with that would be good. Matt

Pin puller, thanks walker. They had a catalogue of all the different types of pullers at repco but they were all pully pullers. Matt

You do not need the puller to replace the rubber coupling, it is only needed when changing the diff pinion seal.

I am not replacing the rubber coupling Alan i need to remove the pinion so i can put a 4 bolt pinion flange on to eliminate the rubber tool. Matt

Well i have two options, buggerise around trying to get the tool or i can cut around the edges of it like Slunnie did splay it out with a cold chizel and then try and get it out that way.

Anyone know where i can get the tool from, and how much it is, that might help me make up my mind. Matt
