They appear to make a "one size fits all" loom for all the models. Pay more $$$ and they will hang something extra off the spare plugs and terminals. probably keeps the cost down if you do not mess around with different models. Wire is relatively cheap these days, and it is a very light gauge so copper content is low.

My 96 130 defender has heaps of spare copper!
I got bored and looked behind dash- heaps of spare connectors.
then behind little 3 switch panel- more spare connectors.
Then behind panel below radio- more spare connectors.
looked behind left rear light panel where brake, reverse and indicator lights are and -more spare connectors.
lastly looked behind right rear light panel where brake and indicator lights are and you guessed it even more spare connectors.
Anyone have a wiring diagram as to what colours go where?
I want to put in rear fog lamps, tachometer, front fog/driving lights, second interior light etc

When you buy an Extreme you get most things.
I don't have the heated windscreen, mirrors, or seats. (This is Queensland, not the Arctic).
Other wires are probably for Sat Nav, front fog lights, ejection seats, missile lock, HUD, landing gear, JATO bottles.
You can get your Jolie's off in these things!

sorry should have mentioned mines a 96 130 as well (same as zwitter's and tdi is the only engine avail, well here anyway)
maybe they used a bigger wiring loom in the 130 as it had the carrying capacity
saying that it's the most basic model feature wise (remember it is a fender not RR) , apart from rear window wiper I couldn't think of options on wagons a ute wouldn't get
I'd also love w copy of wiring diagram, is it on Rave CD, I've got one but haven't looked at the wiring section, I also want to add lots of goodies and thought I could save running some wires by using spares in the factory loom
thanks
