I tried the press brake and start trick and it did sink when the engine kicked over....but like I said come Saturday and I will sort it out whilst I install my new headlights that took 3 weeks to get here:mad: and they forgot to send the Xenon globes:twisted:..

:twobeers:FWIW the vacuum pump failed on my 95 300tdi . Intermittent symtoms as you
have described before total boost failure. They are a sealed unit and not cheap.
I hope it's something else.
Well, I checked all the things you guys said today and completely changed the fluid..and presto the fliud change has made a 80% improvement.. Thanks for all your valuable imput and help made the check list easier.:)
But now I want drilled/slotted discs and that new drum/handbrake conversion..where will it end:cool:
