Any one use one of these

Pretty good for those dusty summer convoys and you can wash it or toss it at the end of the trip.

We used "Droopies" for the Simpson Desert Trip.
They're a Finer Filter foam sock that fits inside the snorkel. That way we could use a precleaner as well. The Droopies seemed to catch more dust than the precleaner and they left the air filters pretty clean.

These would act in the same way, but the Droopy wouldn't be susceptible to sun damage or getting caught on foliage. The Droopies were $35 for a pack of 3, so you could change them over on a trip and clean them when you got home.

    Droopies work real well...

Although my thoughs are, out of sight, out of mind

They all impede flow a little and can increase consumption marginally (droopies and socks) but are beneficial in either case.

However, the condom (as pictured above) allows IMHO monitoring of ust build up, is easier to remove/replace (I remove when leading, replace when following) and because you can SEE it.... you can see when its dirty.

Risk of pulling it off on branches is pretty low (especially in the desert ) but they are convenient and useful.

Its harder to forget about, I've seen people complain their vehicles not going as well.... And then they remember the droopie only to find it full of leaves, dirt, dust etc... Remember, out of sight... Out of mind.....

Thats what LandAndy would use on Black Betty but it would have to be a fishnet style
