dont forget to transfer the gear for the abs off the old disc onto the new one......
and you will need another double hex socket to undo the bolts that hold the rotor onto the hub......
new lock tabs should be used for the hub nuts.......every time they are removed......

No need Defenderzook,
The disco 2 abs "ring" is part of the hub assembly, not light the disco 1/defender.
There is only the disc rotor to replace & thats it.

According to the Rave CD it was as simple as remove & replace rotor, then put it all back together again...no???

ok....yours doesnt have it......but even if it did......its very simple to do.....

The job in the end was very easy to do. With the bolts that hold the full caliper on it is a 19mm. I used a 12 point socket with a breaker bar and it released easily. The problem area was the screw which holds the rotor to the hub. I took Defenderzook's advice and bought an impact driver. The only problem with it is the screwheads are not big enough. Phillips 2 & 3 are small but I had a very large phillips head in a cheap socket set which fitted a lot better. The main trick from Ron's link was to heat up the screw. This worked perfectly. So its all ready to do. As per usual no one has rotors in stock so I have to wait for those till next week. The new pads are in and have bled the brakes to give it a freshen up. I will be doing it all again next weekend so the new slotted rotors can go on, another brake flush and the jobs complete.

Finally received them yesterday :D:D:D:D:D:D They look fantastic.:clap2:

I am thinking about leaving the old rotors on until I reach about 160,000 k's or measure them up. If they are close to the minimum thickness I will change them. According to the Rave CD I believe the minimum thickness is 22mm. As the new rotors are 25mm it doesn't leave much material to work with. Can we confirm the minimum thickness?

I was under the impression that a brake bleed should only be done via test book.

May be wrong - but I am sure I have read/heard it somewhere.

Yes I was wrong - sorry it is only if any component upstream of the modulator is changed the test book has to be used, calipers, discs etc., are obviously downstream
