Provided it's all quiet, engine/radio/fans off/ horns disconnected, you can hear the click - if the relay works, then you don't have to take the steering wheel off. I didn't notice the first horn die ( I rarely use the horns), and one day the 2nd died and I thought my brass strip had failed. With the relay OK, I figured the horns were RS, tested one and no go - a set of old bosch horns from a 70's Merc ($5 total) did the trick - and they are really loud. Unfortunatly LR horns aren't rebuildable, and they have a specific LR connector on them.
I found it difficult to hear the "click" of the relay, but there are plenty of similar ones mounted close to the horn relay, so you simply swap them and see (hear, of course) what happens.

So far, so good! I have managed to get the horn working again, langy's advice with the brass strip was invaluable. Before, I tried with a steel strip which was waaaay too hard and not flexible enough. As I could not locate a similar device as on langy's pic I managed to cut a copper strip out of an old disused ventilation tube :):o and put it into place. Works a treat! And looks not half as professional as langy's construction! But it works!!!
I'll post some pics soon (dropped the digicam into water and cannot download the memory...:mad::cool:).

It isn't illegal to disable an airbag equipped vehicle in Qld (although I think you need to remove it not just disbale it) so long as there was a base model which did not have it. I guess that means the vehicle design could pass ADRs without the airbags.Quote:

On my one, the auto sparky wired in a temporary horn switch over on the right lower dash by the external mirror adjuster, until I could fit a new Rotary Coupler.
All tickety boo now, & I reckon Cruise is much more responsive, so either it was rubbish from new or the coupler has been upgraded, as it's a new P/N.
It's so nice when one's horn works ain't it?:D
