Help, warning light comes not in time, why's that?

Just noticed other weekend when went down several times on steep slope in quarry the handbrake red warning light came on. Don't know why. Everything seems OK TC, ABS, handbrake, etc.

    Please, help to investigate.

    Thanks,

    Ruslan

Same thing happened to me - turned out the brake fluid was a bit low and the level sensor was out of the fluid due to the angle thus reporting the fluid level as low.

Yep, quite normal, had the same thing in the Vic High Country...

Top the Brake fluid up just a little bit....

And check the bleeders on all 4 calipers... Mine also worked loose once and I was bleeding off fluid little by little over time.

The handbrake warning is probably not just handbrake - it also is connected to the other brake sensors, which it seems from earlier posts include a level sensor (not on mine). If it is like my 110 it is also connected to the warning switch on the equaliser between the brake circuits, and this will come on when one circuit is failing - when the brakes are applied heavily, and should be investigated.

I have had the same on mine on steep hills. It appears to be the silly magnetic switch thingy in the hand brake that when put on a steep angle touches triggering the light on the dash. I spent ages going through everything looking for a fault and found that is just the movement and touching of the contacts. How yoy ask, I removed the little spring and contact, went out on a steep hill and tried it, no light. Put it back in and yep, steep hill light flickers on and off.

With the fluid level mine has to be totally full or the light comes on. The level markings mean nothing.

The fluid level is OK. Havn't had a time to check the switch in the hand brake. I'm sure will find this bug soon.

    Anyway, Thanks guys for ideas!
