Now I can just see some of you sicko's:D having a laugh at my choice of words above.
The problem I have is I don't want to drive to Sydney for something so simple and am worried if I get more agressive I will damage something. Any advice would be appreciated.
Did you disconnect the hose inside the car, it's a concertina/rubberised thing that just pulls off the stub of the drain pan. That way you can use your 'thick string' or a pipe cleaner to clean the stub.Quote:

After I did mine I also sprayed some anti bacterial spray up into the drain pan - and down each drain pipe. Seems to reduce the build up of gunk.

Applications
ERG ABS is a natural anti bacterial spray. Its non allergenic and ideal for anywhere you need a fresher, healthier environment. .
Delivered in a 200gm can, it’s much more than an air freshener. ERG ABS gets to the heart of the problem by attacking the bacteria that creates the odour.
Applications include:
Air conditioning evaporators - Home and Car
Waste bins
Carpets
Laundry and bathroom
Footwear
Ashtray and cigarette disposal units

Hi guys,
Can anyone tell me where the A/con drain would be on a 97 discovery? its a 300tdi if that makes a difference. The bloody thing keeps dripping water on the drivers side after the acon has been on for a while.
Also is it normal with these for fuel consumption to go through the roof with the acon on?
Bloody good forum here, got some good advice off here while changing my timing belt:)
Thanks Rien
