    What does it mean when.....

What does it mean when the ABS, traction control and hill descent control lights all come on and stay on? They disappear after switching the ignition off and then on, and might not come on again for a few days. Brakes still work. Car is a D2 Td5 Auto. I don't really feel like a trip to Sydney or Canberra (the nearest OK dealers/service departments)

One of your sensors has gone into fault mode or one of your sensors is dirty or one of your sensors is broken.

Unfortunately a trip to the rovercom or Textbook computer is the only way to clear the fault so your hill descent , traction control or abs ain't working until the fault is fixed and cleared.

As in ABS wheel speed sensors.

Before going too far, its probably worth unplugging and checking the connections for each sensor and making sure the connections are all good and clean.

Finally got it fixed, turned out to be the shuttle valve in the ABS modulator, but the repair kit failed, so ended up with a new modulator. It will hopefully be covered by warranty (so far I haven't had to pay anything, and the dealer says I shouldn't have to) even though the car was actually out of warranty by 13 months. Guess it paid to have the car always serviced by the dealer! Even though the Disco is now 4yrs old, it has only done 47,000km (mainly long trips, as I live next door to work and only a few blocks from the shops, and I tend to use our other Disco for most short trips)

The dealer says that it is becoming a common/known fault!

On another note, the HDC finally works after 4yrs. They stripped the wiring loom and found 1 broken wire. Now I'll have to test it. Its partly my fault that it was never fixed, I would never let them keep the car long enough for them to do the job (I would travel to Sydney to get it serviced etc, but only for the day)

Now all I need is a Centre Diff lock (and maybe a lift, rear locker, front locker...........)

So do I - the job card has just landed on my desk & they want me to get it paid by Land Rover !!

As you said, it is a 'known' fault so it should go through as goodwill, especially with your full service history. I just have to make sure I use the magic words when I approach Land Rover .

I've known her for 15 years , that side of it isn't a problem.
The problem is that this claim will have to go to Melbourne as it will be under goodwill.

What she like at approving a new lock set etc. seeing as New Rowley Motors didn't save the lockset number when they replaced it - which means I can't buy a new keyfob that fits?
