The wrong injectors codes can cause a missfire. I would recode all injectors correctly and while you got it plugged in see if there are any misfire faults and clear them. Techincaly speaking thoses 3 injector should not be firing.
Hi all.
When I compare the codes on the injectors in comparison to the print out from the test book I notice that 3 of the 5 injectors are incorrectly coded
In all cases its the last numeric number on the injector. The first 4 alphabetic characters are correct, just the last numeric number is incorrect.
Is this important?
I have been trying to find the source of a very bad vibration in my car at the 2000 RPM range in all gears including park and neutral.
I know TD5's are know to suffer from this, but mine is bad and it gives me the sh..ts

what car is it...?
if its a manual the vibration could be coming from the flywheel.....
the oil pump.....
or the cranckshaft pulley.......
Not true... the injector codes are only for injector tolerance, to set them all to exactly the same performance (sweet spotting I guess it could be called).Originally Posted by V8Hybrid
As for injector codes, new upgrades changed the last digit outside the range of the injectors fitted. Its common to have the last digit different.
On my old MSB ECU the codes are correct, on the new NNN ecu every injector has a default letter at the end which is not the same as the other ECU.
Unless it totally throws the tolerances out theres now major gain to be had, however.... it could be way off tolorence
Look into it, but dont be too surprised if its ok.

I tried to put the 'correct" codes in last night, but it would not accept the change to the last didgit, saying it was out of range
But yes a bit of research has revealed that this last digit makes no difference.
I did another power balance test and whilst once again, nothing stands out as being wrong, I will replace on of the injectors on the weekend.
I am also going to get one of thos infra red heat sensors that air con mechanic use to test to see which cylinder is misfiring. I am going to run my car at that vibration range and see if any of the exhaust outlets is cooler than the other
I know its not a drive line issue cos it also does it in neutral, park etc. I also have just had the gear box/torque converter rebuilt/reconditioned and it made no difference. I have also repaced engine mounts
another cheaper way to do check if a cly is miss firing is when the engine is cold wet the manifold with water start and run the motor up to the range where the vibration/miss comes in and see which one is the last one exhaust port to evaporate the water.

Hove you tried rotating the torque converter on the drive plate?
TD5 Auto
Yes. I have just had the whole trans and torque converter rebuilt/balanced. So I think I can discount that as an issue
Before that I had the tourque converter rotated as well and it did nothing to resolve the vibration.
