Done a few. I'd stick with the tried and true swearing method.... or use some blue tac. Just a little. They can be fiddly, depending on how much you pay.
Anybody got a trick for installing a deadbolt? Swear words have not worked on multiple occasions.
The fork pictured below,

has to enter the cross shaped hole, also pictured.

The fork is not ridgedly attatched to the end of the barrel, making insertion almost impossible, particularly as the barrel, nacelle and trim rim obscure any view. Holding the three components together is a challenge alone.
If or when I get the external assembly in place, I have to hold it firmly and repeat on the inside, with the fork at 90⁰ to its counterpart.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Thanks John, Hammerbarn special, I've run out of words and patience.

Other types will have the tang part you inser in that cross first an then slip the barrel over it. Still tricky but better. Can you modify it along those line?

Try putting the key in and turning it should move the fork so that it lines up with the cross. Easy to see from one side but will have to be done by feel from the other side. Blutac or grease should help to stop it moving around too much.
