    Building a 100 Hybrid

There seems to be a lot of members building these.
Before one starts the build what pitfalls, traps, tips and tricks can you all share.
I realise this would be a long and expensive task,
How many of you have finished, given up?
What parts have you had to customise to suit your needs?
What original LR parts have you used?
    What engines have you used?

Depending on how you do it, it shouldn't be expensive.

I've done mine by moving the rear axle further back and using coils, Rangie A frame, I made the X-member to mount this, and I've made my own stronger lower links that go to the original leaf spring mount.

It just takes a lot of time to do all of this, especially with 1000 other things happening in day to day life.
    Cheers

Work out how long you think it will take, and then quadriple it!

Never! It just takes a long time.

I also have done a ute conversion, X-member for A frame, lower links at the rear, rear bulkhead to suit SWB chassis, Handbrake to suit hilux propshaft for rear (I've used Landcruiser axles though a front Disco shaft would have worked also.), A-frame mount on the axle. Probably brake lines also, Spring perches on axle/chassis, shock mounts.

    Rover A-frame only.

3.5V8 and Lt95 gearbox. None of the above relates to the fitting of that engine/gearbox though - that causes a lot of headaches.

I'm a bit confused with this as well, do you mean getting it registered?
