    Washers in D2 steering stops

    I assume that I can simply fit 1 or 2 washers to my steering stops in my D2 without any adverse affects? my 265/75r16 BFG Muds are catching on the trailing arms and I reckon 1 or 2 washers should sort it.

    Anything I need to be careful of or anything I need to consider?

    Looks pretty straight forward.

    It should be OK.
    In the later D2s when some were fitted with 18" wheels as standard, longer lock stops were fitted to increase the lock.
    A couple of washers should be OK on yours as long as you have enough thread left.

    Thats what I have done. I've used 1 washer on each side which suits 255/85's, 285/75's and Simex 33x10.5. I then used some low grade anti vibration loctite back on the steering stops to make sure they didn't move.

    The 03MY D2's had too longer stops on the ealy ones at least, there was a LR paid for change to fit shorter stops. Made a BIG difference

    A single washer fitted to each side with a bit of medium strength loctite - job done and solves the rubbing problem. If only all jobs were tha simple.......any tips on removing the turbo heat cover Want to check my waste gate is not sticking but cannot for the life of me get to the bolt underneath the whole assembly and can't seem to remove clip on the end of the valve to pop it off and check.

    Might be a job for my mechanic!!

    12mm run of the mill metal washers (approx 3mm thick) 10mm weren't quite big enough to fit the thread through.....should I be using something different? Can you get high tensile washers? Bought these from Supacrap.
