Ask taxi drivers what they use and most often the answer will be Maxxis.
We had the 40 series performance tyres on my wifes Commodore and at $240 a tyre compared to Bridgestones similar at $580 made the Bridgie's look like crap. We were getting 40-50k out of them compared to the Bridgies 15-20k max. Good tyres, my oath.
Will be looking at them as a 4x4 tyre next change.
I tried that. The site must have been down :wasntme:Quote:

I found out through one of the tyre mobs that they were bringing in one last shipment August past and that was it. Worth checking up on if you're in the market.Quote:

they are almost identical treadwise.....
as long as you use them in pairs.....ie..2 on the front or rear of the same type.....
About 10 years ago I bought a set of 4 Kumhos......within 1 year they had ALL lost balance badly:( .....in fact they COULDN'T be balanced :( ......then 1 by 1 they got bulges and started delaminating, steel belt separation:mad: .....2 blew out spectacularly:mad: ......they were singularly the WORST tires I ever had:mad:  ......very little treadwear over about 2-2 1/2 years [i.e. very hard compound] but were diabolical in the wet.....:mad:Quote:

I think the reason they have a lot of patterns like old well known brand's patterns is to fool people into buying their cheap crappy copies!
