Rover Comp

I have no exp in TD5 diesels but I have pulled apart alot of Jackaroo 4JX1 Diesels which are of a common rail design, They have to be programmed into the ECU telling It which injector is in which cyl, the programming is only for fuel trim, some injectors are richer than others, the motor will run fine even if injectors are moved around but to be 100%, the fuel trim data must be programmed. The diff between a rich one and a lean one isn't that much it's just fine tuning.

George, Unfortunately the injector codes have to be programmed in to the ECU, I wish it was as simple as the 4JX1 sounds!
The problem with the Td5 is injector code sequence is actually the firing order...

I had to travel 3 hours last year to start a mates 110, he had done the same thing. All we did was write down the location and code on each injector, and entered them in with Rovacom and away she went. No good to you if you are in the outback....Go the Tdi or Isuzu I say.

Thanks. Thats what I was afraid of. Guess I might have to hire a tilt tray once its back together.

but I think this is a "first" in our tech section,,

I dont remember reading about injecter coding before----

we might have to start calling you Capt Kirk!!:D

The good news is that the Land Rover mechanic who made the mistake is looking at comming out to me to program them. I still have to wait at least another week to get the head back so its another 2 weeks easy before it back on the road.
