Yep its the switch. Wiggle the main switch and see if that makes a difference. If you pull it all apart them you could probably find wich connection is bad.

Hmmm The emery file works but IMHO its way to harsh... IF the missus has a credit card go cut that up into little strips then use the emery file to rough that up a bit then use the roughened strip to file the contacts. As a bonus if you can get the switch apart enough you can use little pieces of the card to wedge the springs off the mounts a bit to give em a little more oomph
does 3 things for ya
1. fixes the headlights.
2. when she sees the disected credit card she wont notice you absconded the emery file and
3. while the credit card is in pieces you save some $$$ to buy a replacement stalk.
wins all round IMHO
Awsome!:twisted:Quote:

When you replace your switch, keep your old one.
Then cut the buggered switch off, and join all 4 wires together (solder, etc), this will give you an emergency spare 'plug'.
- then you just need to plug/unplug to get all lights on/off.
not the prettiest thing, but does give you lights to get home with!
- I keep mine in the console, just in case.
When this happened to me I got a new switch - and found the old one just needed a few seconds touching up on the contacts - these are solid copper so can stand to lose a little, and accessible without taking the switch apart from memory. I added a relay and have had no further trouble.Quote:
