Hi Zook, I was getting to that, (not)...lol
Engine mounts never occurred to me and now i'm paranoid, haven't had one let go in thirty years. Think I drove a ZC Fairlane 351 around for a week wondering what that banging sound was....crikey the whole car is held together with a few blocks of rubber!

todays engine mounts have the housing for the rubber which will catch onto the bracket should the rubber break.....
it wont allow the engine to jump up or flip like the good ol days......
Forgot to say, yes, I have repalced the engine mounts some time ago. Made no difference.
I just happy it gone. Its given me some new good feelings about my car. When and gave it a wash tro make me even feel better about it
If it comes back, I'll be ****ed, but yes, maybe harmonic balancer.
I did notice over the last few months that the rpm spot as to where it vibrated changed. It use to do it at 2200 - 2400 RPM and then it move down to about 1900 - 2000 rpm
How common is it to have issues with the harmonic balancer?
If the problem resides with the HB and has suddenly come good, is this an indication that there may be an up and comming issue with the HB????
johncl,I am only a bush mechanic & will admit that HB problems are rare,however the engine mounts on the TD5 are 'high tech' if you have replaced these & had the injectors checked then sorry its getting too hard for me-----Roly
