D2: Removing driver side door lining

I'm going in.......after weeks of listening to a bloody knocking sound inside the door cavity it's time for me to open her up and locate this noise once and for all. I'm pretty sure the knocking is coming from the arm between the 2 hinges but a closer inspection is needed.
Can anyone give me a STEP BY STEP list of what to do to removed the door skin as I undid a few bolts and things starded to get a little tricky......too much to deal with on my own so figure if I have a list to work to it might be easier.

While i'm at it, anyone know how to remove the aluminium plate over the turbo....got the 2 tops nuts out but i'll be damned if I can reach the one underneath Want it off to check my waste gate is not sticking.

    Aye, Mick

Is it the internal outer door trim that you are trying to remove - or am I missing something ?

Internal door skin/trim or whatever it is called......with the door pocket on. I basically need to get inside the door cavity.

Not sure if D1 & D2 are the same, but on the D1 the trim is held on with black plastic plugs & are levered away with a forked tongued tool behind each one starting at the bottom & working up. Some people have used table forks. The blunt handle end I presume but you must be behind them or you could bust the panel.
Then you may need to carefully remove the Vapour Seal.

Try not to bust the pins as they are quite expensive from LR Stealers & there 'appears' to be nothing else suitable (that I could find anyway) to replace them with, & hex. head roofing screws don't really cut it somehow.

On the rear Disc. door they are red.

    With you.

    As per a previous post

nicked a 'gadget' from the wife's kitchen - she uses it for pancakes - god know's why or how, but it is slim enough to slide in to release the plugs without damage.

    The 'kitchen' impliment is plastic

.............oh yes, not a word to the wife, please

I'm crying with laughter That is the wierdest looking pancake tool I have ever seen, but looks like it's perfectly suited to removing door plugs
Very interested to see a picture of your pancakes the next time your wife makes them LOL

Cheers for your help and I'll be raiding the kitchen tonight in search of a suitable impliment!!

Mick, just make sure you don't rattle the "Thingammy Drawer" contents while you're at it, if she is watching telly in the next room, or you're a done dinner.
